Los padres de familia y miembros de las juntas de acción comunal de San Cristóbal acompañaron al alcalde Ángel de Jesús Becerra Ayala y sus funcionarios, en su visita a la escuela del barrio para definir el futuro de este centro educativo que resultara afectado por una avalancha en la ola invernal del pasado febrero.
El alcalde Becerra Ayala en compañía del subdirector ambiental del Área Metropolitana de Bucaramanga, Víctor Moreno Monsalve, inspeccionaron la escuela, y sus zonas aledañas, incluyendo la quebrada Suratoque, para definir si era posible rehabilitar este centro educativo, tal como lo pide la comunidad.
Después del recorrido el mandatario se reunió con los padres de familia, las juntas de acción comunal y llegaron al acuerdo de que la escuela será rehabilitada, para lo que se hace necesario adelantar un estudio que defina las obras de mitigación y de adelantar un plan de emergencia y evacuación por si en un futuro se hace necesario evacuar la escuela.
“Con el alcalde Becerra Ayala nos comprometimos a adelantar unos estudios integrales, aguas abajo y arriba de la cuenca, para definir las obras de mitigación que son necesarias de realizar en la zona”, indicó Víctor Moreno Monsalve, subdirector ambiental del Área Metropolitana de Bucaramanga.
La comunidad del barrio y sus líderes se expresaron satisfechos con la decisión de rehabilitar la escuela. “Estamos muy contentos, es muy bueno porque eso ero lo que buscábamos, que los niños pudieran volver a estudiar aquí y se adelantaran los estudios de las obras de mitigación”, manifestó Pedro Mantilla, presidente de la junta de acción comunal de la primera etapa de San Cristóbal.
Se espera que la próxima semana se adelante la asamblea general donde los padres de familia y el Gobierno Municipal firmen el acta de acuerdo sobre las condiciones en que se rehabilitará el centro educativo.
